The Coffee House

you can't retrieve that last glass of your prized wine! A travesty
Define "retrieve"...on ts way to the floor a majority of the contents soaked my shirt and pants. I'd be lying if I said the thought of wringing out my clothes didn't cross my mind. 🤔

@SquarePeg tile floors are definitely not glass friendly.

We pay for the lowest package we can on cable. BUT then add on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney etc etc and we pay more now then we did years ago with the full TV package. It's absolutely ridiculous.
Being rural has its downside. We're just far enough away from the local TV towers that an antenna is hit or miss, and our internet is "slow band", so our options are limited. You end up paying for 200 channels on satellite, 180 of which are mostly garbage.

Exactly. ... and when we reduce the package then all the channels we really want are not there of course.

I read somewhere that these media groups buy up small struggling channels no one watches, and package them with their big channels, forcing rebroadcasting companies to pay for the whole package. It's an "all or none" deal that ultimately screws over the consumer.

Alternative? Read books. Better still, write 'em! Worse, edit 'em!

Once, when princess was younger, I had her Girl Scout troop over here to make Christmas ornaments. I found glitter in my house for years afterwards. The funniest part was our little dog was pooping sparkly poops for weeks after that day 🤣🤣🤣
I bet that was fun.

Don't forget to add the internet access; and they want to bundle a landline and even mobile phones. No thanks on the phones: no landline needed and we are quite happy with the mobile service we have.

Just got home from the beach! 70° and sunny with a nice breeze. Both Harlie and I are ready for a nap! Unfortunately for us both, she needs a bath first.

After a summer like day at the beach in short sleeves and flip flops, I am now sitting on my couch looking at beautiful fall colors outside my window.

Hey ho Photopeeps! This week is my week to work onsite at Southwest. It's great seeing all the People in person, but I absolutely loathe the commute, especially since the population has boomed, but the infrastructure has not kept up. On the positive side, when half your driving on the Interstate is engaging the EV and delivering 40mpg, at least I'm not burning money sitting in the traffic like a lot of other folks.

In other news, I'm about to get myself into trouble. A coworker is fostering a real sweet pup! 1 YO female somethingorother, max 35 lbs, house trained, crate trained, great with other dogs and small children, doesn't pull on the leash, and should be ok on long walks in this Texas heat. Looking at the "it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission" approach, especially since our other two pups are "look what I got" purchases. :) She (the dog) has some trauma issues from her previous owners, was apparently a "breeder" starting at 6 mos, which is too young for a dog. Her current name is Honey, and I think I'll keep that name for her. Wish me luck. 😂
