What's new

The Coffee House

I have posted this video to YouTube as "Unlisted" which means that only people reading this message know about it for now. I might eventually make it public on YouTube, but I have not decided yet. The problem is that it's a "semi-failed" recording. I recorded it Christmas Morning, and yes, it worked as far as that is concerned. But I was hoping for the sun to be visible for at least a part of it. That's what failed. A "sunrise" video with no sun? As a matter of recording the truth, well that's what happened. But it is only interesting for people who love clouds. . . .

Made it back to the Maryland house without incident. I didn't hit any real traffic until I got near Baltimore.
Belated Merry Christmas & Happy Hannukah to all.

We got a little Maine snow Christmas Eve; powdery goodness. If I was a skier I'd have been very happy.

@CherylL I have never heard of Gen Jones is that something new? I’m 1965 and have always felt I am an OG Gen X having lived the latch key/take care of yourself at age 9/its 10pm do you know where your kids are existence.
The term was coined in 1999. The past few years I have seen the term used more often. This generation was the first to be marketed to in TV ads.

Yup. The late 50s-60s cohort was carpet-bombed with TV ads, many creepily aspirational for the time. But then the little dears lived in front of those horrid canoe-size console TVs...

Hey there Folks! I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday! We went over to son #2's in-laws for slow roasted prime rib and assorted sides. It was absolutely delicious! Today has been very rainy, with flash flood warnings for the low lying areas around the Metroplex.

Nice. I kinda like Canadian Boxing Day for the chance to recover from Christmas Eve/Day excess.
Sleep in. PJs+robe till noon-ish. Good coffee(spiked a bit)+homemade pain au chocolat. Drab day. Reduction of Christmas feast for lunch+dinner. No needy guests. No travel.

Had our own unofficial Boxing Day yesterday. Sat around eating leftovers and watching movies in front of a fire. Had a spa appointment mid afternoon for a massage and facial. The only thing I accomplished was walking the dog. Will pay the piper today with laundry, putting away all the Christmas dishes and giving the floors a good cleaning.

Morning y'all. Our week of Christmas feasting is finally over, back to more sensible eating for me. The leftovers are gone, cleanup and packing away the decorations are about to start. Will be traveling tomorrow to see youngest son, who wasn't able to be here for Christmas. Once back will begin working on master bedroom, painting and new carpet. :crushed:

It's official, after about 40 years in the County Government (employee, intern & contractor), I have joined the everyday-is-a-weekend crowd.

Woke up sick this morning...that's what I get for socializing for Christmas.
Sorry to hear this. MLW was mostly well in three days.
