We made it home without any incidents. Roofers are here and working on one section at a time because of continued threat of rain.
This time I walked several meters back downstream until I found a place to step (very cautiously) on rocks to cross, then back up stream.
A couple years ago, when I started fishing again, I went to a creek in western MD looking to get some fine brook trout. I used to cross the stream by walking across fallen logs, even with two or three meter drops.Aging for me means uncharacteristic restraint in doing things that otherwise might injure, maim or kill me. It's a work in progress. Still, that inner gonzo still whispers, "What are you saving yourself for?"
