The crazy things you'll take pictures of and later go "that looks pretty cool"

Just goofing around last night while showing a buddy how the camera worked and how fast it could shoot pics. I really wasn't trying for anything in particular, but it turned out pretty cool anyway.

Being a noob, I'm not sure what you're asking. If you're asking for my camera settings here they are.

The fan blades were stationary and the room was dimly lit.

Someone here once posted a picture of one that got roasted in a fire. That was a cool shot.

I took an intro to digital photography over the summer and one of the homework exercises was to shoot something changing only the apperture. So I choose my ceiling fan. It's a small world. (P.S. Please don't notice the dust on the chain.....why did I even have to bring that up!). It's a high ceiling and who would look WAY up there for dust. Right!

The 3 I'm posting were taken with my nifty 50 at 1/200. Apperture settings were f/22, f/5.6, and f/2.8.

Here is a pic that I always thought looked pretty crazy. There was absolutely no color alteration or anything like that. This is exactly as the pic was taken.
This pic was taken at an aquarium on the Oregon coast. It was a jellyfish exhibit. They had some kind of lighting in the tank that made them look like this. Pretty cool though.

I know what you mean. Many of my first couple of shots end up looking real cool. I know I'm not alone in saying this, but I have taken this into my work.

I tell the subjects, "I'm just taking some test shots to get the settings right." when I am actually shooting. These tend to be some of the best expressions. People let loose, make funning faces, and quite simply, are not afraid of the camera. It's a great ice-breaker.

I kind of cheated on this one because I did PP but it IS one that I took and then said "that looks cool".
