My neighbors rescue dogs. Not even sure what this one is yet. Our vet says its the worst case of mange he has ever seen. Hes in good hands now, and hopefully will make a full recovery. How could someone do this? Or let it get this far? Animal abuse comes in many forms, not a single one is justified. I encourage you do donate to your local shelters, as he is not the only one suffering.

Agreed. Glad to see there are several people here that rescue rather than buy from puppy mills. We have two dogs and one cat, all rescues (all were abandoned by their owners).​

Don't quite understand what snobby has to do with anything, seems like kind of a self righteous kind of comment.
I've had rescues, pure bred labs and now a pure bred English Mastiff. Different dogs for different reasons.
My reasons for the pure breds? Labs are known to be great hunting dogs and they were. My Mastiff? I wanted a big lazy dog, that would be awesome to anyone he encountered.

Just seems selfish to pay over $1000 for a dog when there are thousand sitting in shelters that are just as good.

Service animals are different. I do understand that purpose bred dogs are better for things like hunting, law enforcement and sports.

As an active dog community member I can say that those with pure breads seem them more as fashion accessories. They go along with their huge house, fancy car etc... Status symbols.

I can see your point, to a point. But to make generalized blank statements about an entire group of people, seems a little self righteous, non?

Those that do not take responsibility for their animals are selfish, greedy and cruel individuals. I am on a fundraiser organization for a county animal shelter. A person would be surprised at how many full breeds are in shelters.

Simple just spay or neuter your animals!

The door does indeed swing both ways on the self righteous front. Both sides are guilty of thinking they are better than the other.

I am entitled to think that about pure bred owners as through empirical evidence I have yet to be proven wrong.

As an aside I do see quite a few pure breds at the shelter so you can have you cake and eat it too.

Well, I know that I for one do not think I am better than anyone, lol. I do support the shelter in my area, but unfortunately they didn't have a match for me when I was looking for a new pet.

You mean it didn't match the leather interior in your BMW?

No BMW here, not even a big house.
Just a big o'l Chevy Truck, and all he does is slobber/shed all over my leather interior. (technically the truck is used for my work, so not really a luxury, ever try to get crude oil out of a cloth interior?)

I only use refined oil, because I am fancy like that.
