Celebrated the Christmas at the Dog shelter, I've become more or less a family member to the two trustees of the NGO - and am now supervising the volunteers who come here, along with helping the doggies out by taking them for the Vet visits and whatever else is needed.
Thought I'd share some pics from today (a couple from archive as well)..
#1. Dobby - Rescued from the Road side, probably run over by a vehicle. He has a broken leg, and broken hip which unfortunately will never heal. A very Low Haemoglobin & platelet count as well, but he is recovering well from that. Even though he can barely walk, he was running out of the crate to meet the volunteers today - and to the muddy water the moment he was unsupervised. Naughty kid!
With such soulful eyes, me & my gf are planning to bring him home once he is stable.

#2. Haan the Great Dane - Malnourished & Abandoned by his former owner, was taken in at the shelter on Christmas eve. The gentle giant gave a scare to the other Doggies with his size, but got along well soon after!
#3. Raja the GSD - Rescued by one of the Trustees from her neighbour who was beating him up. When interrupted, he just gave him up - we happily took him in!
#4. Forgot his name - A senior dog now at the shelter, we suspect he was sold off as a Doberman when he was a puppy due to the similarities. The owner docked it's ears & tails; upon realizing it's an Indian Pariah dog, they abandoned him and he ended up with us. He likes to sleep a lot now, and is the gentlest doggy we have at the shelter!
#5. Ronny - Another gentle soul, a golden retriever who was abandoned merely because of an Ear infection. We are trying to get him adopted as he's not too old - he likes kisses!
#6. Lilly Mily - Another accident case, paralyzed from the waist down - yet a bundle of Joy. You can cuddle with her all you want, and she'd still be wanting more! You can see the happiness in her eyes everytime you approach her for a belly rub.
#7. Kanu (left) - He was being stoned by some stupid kids in a colony as a 6-8 weeks puppy. He was brought in by a concerned stranger, who just dropped him at the shelter and went his way.
He has since grown up to be a big bully himself, and fights with everyone (even the one's bigger than him) whenever he doesn't get his way. He still enjoys playing around a lot though:
Aaand That's it for now; here's Khushi wishing you all a merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year..
