Sorry, this one just isn't working for me. It looks too unnatural. I think there would be promise there but the clarity around the shoe and tong just doesn't fit in the shot.

Thanks Rick. I'll do another edit and see if I can get this right then. I may need to approach this in a different way so it may well take a few tries, needless to say my PP skillz need some work!

It works for me because I am very familiar with shoeing the horse.. and the heat and singe sounds......and then the poof of smoke.. cool picture........hard work

Thanks Photo Lady, I'm doing another edit of this that'll hopefully be a bit better but I need to work out some blending issues. When I'm done I'll post it up here with the original and see what people think

Not sure if that round object in the center of the shot is a patch on his shirt or what, but it's distracting from the rest of the photo. Being a horse guy long ago the photo appeals to me though.

I love this shot! I really like that you can't tell what's going on until you see the shoe, then Bam! Makes perfect sense.

I like this, but I'd like to see the patch on his shirt removed and a bit more contrast; it's a bit muddy as-is.

Thanks for the feedback folks, it's appreciated.

I've done a second edit and have tried to take all the suggestions on board, I'll be interesed to hear what you think of the new version. I'll post up the original in a day or two so you can all have a look and see what I've done in post.
