Yesterday, I was walking in Valle de Cocora, in Colombia, and the sky was just perfect to explore some black and white pictures.

#1, the b&w picture not bad. I would experiment a bit with the crop, square, like in the thumb, has also good, dynamic compo. Plus the texture of the sky is nice, interesting, mood setting.
Yes, I did put the sun directly behind the crown of the palm to have the halo centered with the palm. It's the fine dust of cloud that was still there that made it visible to the eye..
