Alas, I haven't got a picture.

Still, you know the folding luggage racks they have the a hotel room? Two metal-pipe frames, with nylon webbing straps, unfolds into a sort of a thing you can set your suitcase on?

Set it on end. You will need some magazines to prop it up a little. It's very wobbly otherwise. Now you have 4 legs, the "front", pointed at your model, and the nylon web mesh opposite, on the "back".

Hang a towel over the legs, place a strobe behind it pointing up.

Instant.. softboxish scrimmish thing. It softens the light, anyways. Inefficient as heck, and it leaks lights all over (throw a blanket over it to contain things a bit if you like).

Was at a barbecue the other day and my buddy wanted some quick shots with his bike before he sold it. I only had 1 trigger with but wanted to fire two of my ABs so I figured I could bounce the flash into the slave eye on the back of the other unit. I taped a ruler to the side of the flash, slid a styrofoam plate wrapped in tinfoil down the ruler and it successfully bounced the flash and fired the other

I don't know if it's MacGyver-class, but I once rented two strobes and one sync cord was way too short - like 6 inches (yes, really). Attached an optical slave cube to a PC->hotshoe sync cord, rubber banded it under the other strobe, and ta-da, the shoot was saved.

I just upgraded him with a pentaprism glued to a bubble level that is attached on the hot shoe on top of the camera, so I can get my perspectives better and look from above instead of through the viewfinder.

The eye you look at is actually my daughter's, looking from above.

Not really MacGyver... but a handy trick.
Not my own idea, someone else did it before, found it on RangeFinderForum a while ago, and want to share this

Hey all, I'm new here, saw this thread and thought of something I did last year. Literally minutes before the transit of Venus started this idea popped into my head....eclipse glasses, Al foil and tape on my 70-300mm lens.
