I will put my own twist on it, later in the message she tells me I should know her taste so she trusts what i'm doing so. I'll just take it with a grain of salt and do my thing, and try and do hers.

Just don't try to argue with her about it. Prove your point by showing her that you know what you're doing. You may eventually convince her that you were right by winning the argument, but she will always remember the argument and how 'hard to work with' you are. Do your thing, but let her think you did what she asked you to do.
