"New" is a relative term! We have now been in the studio for 2+ years. We were in construction phase for about a year of that. The building we occupy was Brigham City's first non-emergent hospital-Cooley Memorial Hospital. Built in 1935. It operated until 1976. From '76 to mid 80's it was preschools, dance studios, etc. From mid 80s until mid 90s it was apartments and from mid 90s until 2018 it was vacant. We are leasing the top 3000 square feet which was the original maternity suite of the hospital. We have 3 full studios that can be natural light but I do use strobe in each studio. The newborn studio was the original labor and delivery room!! We rent the space to other photographers. We also rent it to the community for events and classes. There are 4 office spaces that sublet from us. Introducing Two Color Photography's sister company: Cooley Collective Studios!
Thanks!! Covid kinda kicked us in the butt, but my renters weren't ever forced to close their businesses and I wasn't ever forced to close either so we just kept going! Got a few grants to help out. Things are definitely getting back to normal!
We are very happy with how it turned out! We tease that if we ever needed to we could sell our home and just live in the studio!
I'm a little late seeing this, but wow, what a great space! Seems you've made not only a great studio space, but also a sustainable business out of it.
