the ocean ate my sock

another shot from my roadtrip down the west coast. i almost didn't go out shooting this particular evening because i was exhausted, however i'm glad i did as it was one of the most gorgeous sunsets we got the whole trip!

i wandered down the steep trail from our camp site wearing one runner and sock (cuz i coudln't find the other one, hahahaha i was such a mess!) and one sandal. after i realized i had placed my tripod in a wave zone i decided it would be best to take off my shoe and sock and toss them "out of range" turns out the ocean was hungry and ate my sock. thankfully it spared my shoe and gave me this wonderful shot.

2 minute exposure, shot with a 10 stop filter and a lee 0.9 soft grad.

c&c appreciated, are the colours maybe to cool? should the image be brightened a bit? any other thoughts?

Wow, that's beautiful!! Lovely beach, looks like a goldmine for photos. You might be right on the cool comment, it looks quite blue on my monitor but regardless it still looks amazing and if I'd taken that photo I'd be stoked with it. Definitely have to get myself a fat ND so I can try to do stuff like this.

definitely a bit cool but perhaps that effect adds to the image.

These ocean images you've been posting are awesome. I'm very inspired rob a convenience store, buy filters, and try this. (jk) Seriously, this photo rocks. I'm only slightly distracted by the cliff with its reds and greens; I might have cropped that out a little. Those beach stones are hella serendipitous and steal the show, imo. Sweetness.
