They're Ready!

A couple weeks ago I posted this: First Jar of Pickles!

All told we've put up a couple gallons. That first jar is ready now and they are yummy!

Changing the subject here's what I used to take that pickle photo. Found it in a drawer recently. Must be nearly as old as I am.

I used the camera shutter. The lens is an old shutter mounted enlarging lens from way back in the good old days -- forgot I had it. I was looking for a lens cap in some old boxes and found it. Fortunately the leaf shutter sticks open on slow speeds.

That's a fine looking pickle and I sure could use one. I started to make chicken salad last night but I got stopped cold in my tracks because OUT OF PICKLES!
