Time to save exposure

Didn't know where exactly to put this question - but here goes.

How long should it take for a camera to save a 1 minute exposure?
I m using a class 10 memory SDHC SanDisk card (also tried Maxell). I'm also using Olympus OM-D E-M1 and can't find anything online about slow save times.

However it took 45 seconds to save the 1 minute exposure. That's pretty bad isn't it?

to save regular quick exposures, it's super fast!!

Perhaps this is a buffer issue? I should look into that?
This is the only caveat to switching from Nikon D7100 to mirrorless for me...

Depends on speed of card, the camera and whether in-camera noise reduction is on.

I thought I had one of the best SD cards in terms of speed and brand.
The camera can do 10fps, so I assumed the buffer should be fine.

I will have to look into noise reduction!! It sounds like a good lead!!

Now that you mention it my d600 saves a long exposure alot faster than my d7000. But that's just by memory no A/B tests.

I recall night shots with the d7000 & 95/90 sanddisk extreme pro .. sometimes it just takes a while actually before it starts saving to the SD card. So it seems the camera is processing something before saving it to the card (green light being active while saving). The d600 there's minimal pause before saving.

It could be NR and/or other features ?? but my cameras are setup very similarily.

With Nikon, when Long Exp. NR is on, the saving will take as long as the exposure.

I always know when I forgot to reload my Extreme Pro card cause the ULTRA is a joke in performance.
