Tips for beach shots?

Shoot into the setting sun and light them from the front with flash... let's you see the setting sun AND the people in the picture, or you can do the "traditional" setting sun and silhouette shots?

Don't forget to use a numerically high F-stop so that its all in focus!

Looks like you have Canon gear, so you should be able to use high speed sync on your flash and that will allow you to shoot shutter speeds higher that 250.

Don't really need that unless she is shooting on a very bright day and wants to overpower the sun yet use a wide open aperture. A beach is one of those kinds of places where you want the background to be a part of the picture. It sets the scene for the shoot. Of course, this is not a firm rule, just a strong suggestion. :)
