On July 23rd I will be shooting the Vance AFB air show and I was looking for some tips on shooting an air show from some more experienced photogs, that way the only thing I have to worry about on Saturday is the forecasted heat (101 degrees F ).
I will be using my Canon T3i with the battery grip and my Tamron SP 70-300mm DI VC USD.
One of my main questions has to do with RAW vs JPEG. JPEG would allow me to shoot longer bursts and take more photos, however I would prefer to shoot in RAW. My thinking is that by using some shutter button discipline and keeping my RAW bursts short (3-4 shots at a time) as to not fill up the 9 shot RAW buffer.
My next question is how to handle the metering. Do you guys recommend spot metering or another option?
