To LENR or not to LENR

[Tired but willin]

Does anyone use this setting for long night exposures or is it dependent on the camera being used? I've been reading up on night photography and its mentioned as an option but with the newer upgraded cameras' that its not really necessary. Obvious set back is the exposure takes twice as long, which seems very frustrating especially if you intend to exposure for 10 mins (example). I suppose the best thing to do is try it and see what the pictures come out like, but i'd be interested to hear anyones feedback.
