Shot with a 4x5 Graphlex Graphic View. Arista B/W EDU w/red filter, printed on Ilford MGIV Glossy RC paper w/ilford 3.5 filter. Enlarger settings 40 seconds @ f22

4X5 makes such wonderful prints..... I like the tones and don't mind the dark foreground...nice

In the print, you can actually see the texture in the foreground, and the tree trunks all the way into the ground.

A scan actually is capable of capturing shadow detail. You probably need to use some tool in the scanner software that is the equivalent of curves or levels in photoshop to lighten the shadow areas a bit.

Very true Ken, but it was just a wham bam thank you scan... since I have the print on the wall. Didn't take the time to dissect the scanning software to really push it.
