Today photoshoot with a fashion blogger

So Today I had 3 photoshoot,
This one was quick, 30minute max, and it was for a fashion blogger, to use on her blog.

Very nice work! I wish there were more without the sunglasses; for me eyes are critical to portraiture, but that's purely personal.

I know, but right now, I have problem finding great looking girls without insecurities who wanna work with me and i'm way to poor to pay for professionnals.
I don't understand how easy it's seems to be for some people to find models. I'm not bad at what I do.

You're very, very good at what you do. Have you gotten in touch with local agencies? There's usually no shortage of people who want to test. Model Mayhem works well too, 'though the flake factor can be very high. One thing I would suggest however, is not to get too wrapped in finding 'great looking girls'. Even I can take a pretty passable shot of an attractive young lady. It's a whole 'nother matter when you have someone who's larger, older, or less conventionally attractive than the models you're working with.

I strongly recommend you look for the more challenging models when you're shooting for your portfolio. This will open up a much wider client-base because people will say, "Well, if she can make her look like that, she can make me look beautiful!"

I understand, but I already shoot with bigger girls, transexuals, non conventionnaly attractive for my boudoir business. I do not have a problem when i'm paid. But when I shoot for free, I might sound superficial, but I'd rather have a good looking model.

Edit: I really sound like an ass here, and I'm not, I swear.
Let's say I'd rather work with someone who inspire me, style wise, mind wise, beauty wise.

For unpaid tests it should be more than adequate. In fact, I would think it would strong enough for paid work, but the problem is that there are probably a hundred other good photographers in line ahead of you.

5 years ago model mayhem was the place to be for finding local models. Today it's a ghost town.

My latest strategies have been to use craigslist as well as local photographer-model FB groups. Search " *insert city name* photo model" on FB and there are likely several groups in place to link photographers and models together for TFP work. If you're looking for maternity, put posts up on local expecting mothers' FB groups.

My best success has been on craigslist, I'm currently averaging 2-3 TFP shoots from craigslist per month with surprisingly attractive models.

And you're being too picky about who you shoot with. Here's the deal: a good photographer can pose someone to enhance their beauty. You do it with many of your paying clients. Besides, it's not so much about you must find beautiful people to shoot with. Find great settings. Come up with cool concepts. Shoot a range of different ideas (maternity, nursing mother, bridal portrait, biker chic, athletes). Go to a university and put up posts on the bulletin board outside of the fashion or design departments and you'll get plenty of students willing to pose TF in order to get photos of their work for their fashion or clothing portfolios.
