And for the local agency I fear my portfolio is not strong enough yet. But yeah, I should try.

I wouldn't be so sure on that. I have seen you shoot some really outstanding work!

Looking at these, I would say this lady will be back the next time she needs photos taken. Because if she doesn't love these she is crazy!

And you're being too picky about who you shoot with. Here's the deal: a good photographer can pose someone to enhance their beauty. You do it with many of your paying clients. Besides, it's not so much about you must find beautiful people to shoot with. Find great settings. Come up with cool concepts. Shoot a range of different ideas (maternity, nursing mother, bridal portrait, biker chic, athletes). Go to a university and put up posts on the bulletin board outside of the fashion or design departments and you'll get plenty of students willing to pose TF in order to get photos of their work for their fashion or clothing portfolios.

Also check around for locale fashion and makeup bloggers/vloggers, they would love your quality of work to post. Plus you may end up with a friend to do the makeup and clothing for your future work.

Yeah I'm part of a FB group for Model, Mua and photographer.
But I had so many bad experiences, driving to Montreal (1hrs away) and the girl never showed up.
Rent a studio there (I have my own, but it's not in Montreal, i'm closer to the Ontario Border) , model cancel last minute.
Ask one model if she could bring 2AA battery and one bottle coke, I would have reimburse her, start giving me **** how unnaceptable this was, that with the number of shooting she does, she do not have to put a single dollars, and it was my concept not hers ( I was still crafting her flowers crown and setting the decor) She went full psycho mode, so I told her to forget about it, I don't work with people with so little respect for me, or my work. She kept texting me selfies of her and her makeup telling me what i was loosing (it might work with a guy, but i'm a women) She's the reason why I have so much difficulties finding model, she told everybody what a ***** I was. She contact me a few weeks ago, see if I wanted to try an another collaboration, I said I was too busy unfortunately.

So I'm looking at bloggers now, who have a great sens of styling, and are more down to earth, and also have a lot of followers, I need more visibility.
I'm sure if I have more visibility or that i'm shooting more, i'll have more proposition, and hopefully contracts.

Also, If I can work with someone in C (crazy model) circle, i'm sure I could restablish my reputation, i'm far from being a *****, I just don't like when people have no respect.

My fb fan page do not really work well, and i've put mony for advertisement with not a great return.

Maybe she should just get some Valium, and then as soon as the model shows up she can give them one. She would then have nice calm models to work with!

I struggle to find models, too. I've had zero success with Model Mayhem - well, I did get two newbies the year before last but neither had a clue, brought inappropriate clothing and didn't even say thank you after I sent them the photos. Craig's List doesn't have much of a presence in my area. However, last week I put a shout out on my photography page on Facebook and got 4 responses within an hour from FB aquaintances! One of then was Jess who I shot yesterday and the others will be doing shoots in January ... assuming they come through. I can't shoot them before that because my wife will be away for a month and I NEVER have female models in my home studio when she's not with me. We'll see how it pans out, Jess was lovely (see my thread titled Jess).
