Spent all day haunting my normal spots. Came out with an eclectic mix of wildlife.. Comments welcome..

1 I have mixed feelings about this one as it is not my typical shot. But it is a back lit Juvenile Eagle with a reflection.

2 Not very often I photograph mammals, but I liked the lighting on this one...

6 Just a random horse that was looking for eagles at one of my spots. Strange blue eyes... I know not really wild, and not a bird :)

Very nice shots. I like pic 3 Mr and Mrs Hoodie.

The deer bounding along, all 4 feet up and tucked, her tail up in alarm...awesome!!!

P.S.: My like just put you at 1,001 likes! Congrats!

Nice set. Like the Hoodies

I was in RI last Sunday so I stopped by Sachuest Point to check it out. I didnt have me bird/wildlife setup with me so no pictures. Saw one Snowy 1000 yards away out on a rock island and the only Barn Owl over a distant field. There were 30+ photographers in the parking lot side of field waiting for the owl to get closer. It never got within a hundred yards. They were actually moving /running as a group when the owl flew from one field to another. Not sure if I'll head back anytime soon unless I'm in that area again.

You go into the woods and come out with a hodge podge of beautiful shots, I went in the woods and came out with a hodge poop of horrible shots :hail:

Well, I honestly never thought I'd say this about a picture of yours, but...that first one just doesn't do it for me. I see what you're going for, and I've been trying to do more of the same kind of thing lately--not always just getting the close-ups, but sometimes going for more of the environment with birds in it and creating a "scene" instead of just capturing the bird. But I'm afraid the eagle just doesn't stand out enough here, for me.

The rest, as usual, I am simply in awe of.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think I will be headed there anytime soon then. I kind of like being alone when I'm shooting, I dislike being surrounded by other photographers or even worse a group of birders :(

It took all day and over 700 shots to get a few keepers. Going was tough today.

I agree Sharon, I guess I was just caught up with a nice sunset and almost springlike conditions. I couldn't capture that in the shot but I guess I liked it for personal memories :) I will stick to my close ups :)

I really like #2. I saw a pair of mergansers today too. They stayed at a distance and took off. First time i have seen them here locally.

Something is wrong with 6, he seems to be missing his talons and feathers and needs to see the animal doctors right away.Nice shots but not crazy about #1

The Hoodies are such a cool bird, and I love the running deer.

Looks the eagle is shedding old feathers and growing new ones--not beat up. Nice set!
