Hello everyone

im about to buy today a Tokina 11-16 2.8 for my Nikon D7100

Should i buy the DX i for 350 US or the DX ii for 540 us??

What do you think? Vale la pena 200 dolares de mas?

As far as I know they are essentially the same lens except the dxii is for bodies that don't have an in built focus motor. So you may as well just get the dxi

The D7100 has an internal AF motor, so it can auto focus either lens. Now the newer DII supposed to have a slightly better lens coating but I haven't played with both to really compare the two. Anyhow, I rented the newer DII for my D7100 and really enjoyed it. My only complaint was the push/pull focusing ring. I had an issue with knocking the focus off slightly when pulling/pushing no the focus ring. It's probably due to my large Paws but I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker.

I happen to own the dx II. I only got that one because my camera doesn't have a motor like yours, so if you find the dxi at a much cheaper price then get that one.
