Im trying to pick out a reasonably priced macro lens as my 3rd lens purchase. After a good amount of poking around on various sites, it seems that the Tokina AF 100mm f/2.8 Macro is the best fit given its price, $400. Although i've read that its auto focus wont work with my Nikon d3100, i don't view that as a major issue, as i already use manual focus mostly on my current lenses. Compared to the similarly priced Nikon macro lenses, the Tokina has received much better reviews. Basically, im just looking for some opinions on this lens, or perhaps recommendations on a better macro lens.

Thanks

Consider the Nikkor 60mm f2.8D macro - it also won't auto-focus, but it's a top-end lens, tack sharp and, like all 'D' lenses, built like a tank. It typically runs around $350 in good, used condition.
