I have a buddy that hooked my family and some friends to see our first Arena Car Race last night and to be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to it. I'm not what you'd call a "racing fan".

But the truth is, I wanted to go to get in some camera time in this kind of venue and I ended up having a lot of fun. I only took 2 lenses, one card and my battery was going dead but I ended up filling the card up more than I thought I would. Down to the last frame which happened to be the climax of the race; a 9 car pileup.

Some of the other shots are on my blog here and I will make a slide show soon because sometimes 3 or 4 shots do not do some events justice.

these are rwally cool, I never heard of this kind of racing.....how fast do those little guys run?

They say 50mph. It's 10th mile track. Those little buggers move! If they flip... turn'm over. The one you see on it's top flipped twice (this was the second time). Did you see the blog? I have a shot series of a 9 car pileup (on the very first lap!).

Frankly... I'm not into ANY racing (I'm more of a MMA fan) but free tickets and a chance to play with the big lens and fast shutter... I'm in!
