Took this last year while out walking with a friend. Any pros and cons? Ways of improving?

I like this picture and it has potential
Though there are a few things that could be doen to fix it up...
I think it's a bit over contrasted and the white border to the path is blown out a bit.
Also the picture seems OOF to me.

But I like how the path goes out into the distance and the colours are nice (just need to fix the saturation/contrast a bit).

Being new to this myself, take my critique with some discretion...lol

To me, it is oversaturated, slightly soft, and lacking a subject. Try to find a defined focal point and use the trail as a line to guid your eyes to that point.
