These are one of my most photographed birds over the past few years, but I still enjoy seeing them. They have come back to the nesting boxes at my usual go to spot and are claiming their spots.

Nice shots Dean, I like the first one.

They are lovely birds

Lovely shots......................:)
Thanks Jeff!
Yes they are Gary. I like their coloring. Their black mask reminds me of Zorro;)
Exactly, Zorro is my hero!
Now if only they were more like Robin Hood and gave me some money;)
Nice, they are like the sports cars of the sky!
Yes they are. I think @MSnowy has been able to capture the best one in flight I remember.

Thank you much. I am very glad to see them again.

Nice shots. They are definitely fast. Have you ever seen barn swallows catching bugs on the lake? Wow! Crazy.

We have an assortment of boxes up north. Swallows, wrens, bluebirds...you name it. Going to test my skills this summer.

Dad builds different types of boxes. I'll take pictures of them as well. Certain birds prefer one type over the other. Some have one bird in it first and another uses it later. Later you'll find tree frogs in some. Early on, we had field mice in some. Had to switch to metal fence posts to fix that. It's amazing how many different critters use them.

He has one box at his place that has bluebirds in it every year. Pretty close to the house and they're used to people being around. Need to get over there with the camera.

Please do! We need some great pics!
Very nice! They are beautiful birds. And, bonus, they eat tons of flying insects.
Thank you and yes, they dart about for a reason: catching those insects.
