trip to the naval base

I went to the alameda naval base yesterday. got some pretty sweet shots, ive PP every one, usually just levels, curves, etc. I am trying to create more dynamic shots, so if anyone has some ideas for getting more energy in the photo please let me know

@1 image: i wonder what are those white patches seen across the iamge? this image has great potential only if properly exposed.... the statue should have seen with details of its silhouette appearance, where as it is merged with darkness and lost identity....

@2 my personal feeling is that, if you had zoomed out a bit, the effect would have been better

@3; this is my favourite; i really loved its story

@4: what about a veritacal frame with more space above it?

generally i liked your images... i am also a learning amateur only

Thanks for the comments. In regards to image one, I dont see those little white patches.... And it wasnt a statue, but rather a person posing.. It was my intent to merge the subject with the black, because I did not want the person being the focus, rather then sunset. I will see if I can implement your critique though.
