Tripod

I have the Canon EOS 40D. I also just got the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 with IS. I am looking for tripod recommendations that can support the weight of those and is study.

See my sig - Manfrotto 055XPROB with 488RC2 head. ~$300. I personally wouldn't think that it's sturdy enough for a 70-200 but a lot of people who do have it with this tripod report success.

I have the same head on a Bogen 3001 tripod. It's pretty sturdy.

A few weeks ago there were a few threads that discussed tripods. I'd suggest doing a Search and seeing what you come up with.

Manfrotto tripods are very well rated and used, but there are other alternatives.
