I was rummaging through pictures, getting a bunch to submit for a local show and found these two.
PPed to compensate for very difficult lighting (and poor technique)

Toothless,smiling foreigners never have appealed to me. I find such photos somewhat disconcerting.

As a former dentist, I see potential clients.
However, he isn't toothless, the teeth are mostly just incredibly stained with betel which many people chew constantly.
A small plastic bag with 4 or 5 separate rolls (betel leaf enclosing a couple of kinds of tobacco for taste, lime for activation and slivers of betel nut) is about 30 cents US.)
Supposedly keeps you awake, energetic and not hungry.

I'm going the other direction. What else is new. They're both great as usual, but I have to say #2 is my gravy.
The monk is a very, very nice photo, but I kind'a feel like I'm looking at just another National Geographic monk.
#2 is beating the streets and finding a trophy to bring home.

Both very nice indeed.

What is the details on your show?

The second guy isn't homeless, he's a boat repairman/builder and I stopped on a beach to watch him and his worker caulk this boat.
They were mixing what looked like gutta percha with gasoline and caulking away. Nice guys, very friendly, no English but I asked if I could take his picture and he was tickled (not pink) but tickled.

What is the details on your show?

Believe me, it's totally no big deal.
It's a local community center that holds juried shows every quarter.
You submit 10 representative pieces of work and, if they choose you, you get to hang a show along with 2 or 3 other artists.
They take a cut if you sell anything but, since I have never sold a picture my entire life, I expect this will be just a costly but fun learning experience for me.
