I wish I would have captured the 2nd better though.

I like the 2nd as well...I just have a thing about birds.

I bought two lenses since I got my d40 like two months ago, a cheap telephoto and the 50mm AFS 1.4G whatsit.

I had to do it, don't ask why.

I like the bird shot.

The flags are neat, conceptually, but I think it might have been cooler if you got down lower... possibly even right in the thick of them and pointed the lens more parallel to the ground. A circular polarizer would have helped here too as you have some glare in the shot. Still... neat.
