Red, as long as it doesn't have the Red Lobster logo on it anywhere.Power as in lights up?
I have two ties, a red one and a black one.
2 button, leaving bottom button undone. Black jacket with gray slacks. Light purple shirt, dark purple patterned tie, black socks with black well shinned shoes
and all your camera gear
Did you not see the part about politicians? Must have a white shirt, striped tie, preferably a power tie. For most of the rest of the country, except Maine and the south, this would be a formal occasion. Of course in Arkansas a formal occasion means putting a crease in their bestes over-alls.![]()

Dress to stand out not blend in. But maybe that just a Mass-hole thing.

In Maine a black tie with a black jacket usually means funeral home.Seems like a black jacket would look more formal than navy; probably black rather than red tie would not stand out as much.
At least when I've done sporting events I try to not draw attention to myself anymore than already happens being a blonde behind the camera... I'd rather get photos of people participating in the event not gawking at me. So I usually only have cleavage showing from two not all three breasts at once.
BTW: I would not want to appear to be another politician, so I wouldn't dress like one.
Gryphon really did nail it. Black jacket, two buttons, red tie. Just don't blow it all by wearing white socks. Or brown shoes. No brown shoes.
