Shoot. I shoulda known this one! I make my own caramel popcorn all the time, and those pictures are exactly what it looks like when the caramel is starting to boil.

By the way--if you (that's a general "you" not just sparky) have never had HOMEMADE caramel popcorn, you really must try it. But be warned, you'll never be satisfied with the packaged stuff again!

I generally make home-made ice cream for my neighbors grandkids, especially for their birthdays. Last year at one of their parties, half the kids who attended didn't like the ice cream. Not because it was bad.... but because they just didn't know what real, genuine, honest-to-goodness ice cream is supposed to be like (as opposed to the over-chemicalled, preservitave-laced, artificial-colored store-bought stuff). In a small way, I truly felt sorry for them. Not because they didn't like the ice cream, but that's the way they are being raised.
