umm. ndf file?

take card out of camera. put card in computer. processor comes up. wont show photo. says unsupported file type. I look at the file. says .ndf file.
umm. why would my photos show up as a .ndf file?

what is weird. is other files on the card are fine. just some, pop up .ndf files.

what did I miss?

While there are .NDF file types are you sure it isn't a .NEF file?

repeatedly. But I have my photos too. I just don't know why they are there.
I cant access them. I don't have capture.
I have used the auto lens cleaner. Is this why they are there?
they aren't helping me.

I know I occasionaly will have a JPEG tossed into an entire day's shooting of NEFs, to which even Nikon has not been able to address.

.NDF has nothing to do with the 'auto lens cleaner', which is actually a sensor cleaner. Perhaps try a reset?

I'd suggest a look at your camera manual. Look up "Image Dust Off Reference Photo". Odds are you are taking one when you tell the camera to clean the sensor.

It should be in your 'Shooting' menu IIRC; your manual will tell you how.

It shouldn't record one unless all the 'conditions' are right. It would probably return an error instead of recording an .NDF file.

I'll take your word for it. I've never bothered with it myself, just looked it up in the manual quickly. On the D7100 there is an option to clean the sensor before taking a dust-off reference and the OP mentioned he had "used the auto lens cleaner".

I have. I just want the .ndf files to stop. thanks. Probably what it is ill look for a setting to stop the .ndf files.
