upgrade from nikon d40 to...

I have been using an old nikon d40 for awhile and looking to upgrade the body. Is it better to get d7000 or wait for d3200? I have been doing mostly portraits and some landscapes.

D7000. D3200 is a lateral upgrade and that's a big no-no. You can wait for the D7100 though.

No, it is just a rumor. Last I heard was that it would be released in the fall, but that was just a rumor as well.
