Another recent I did. This was actually to be used as a white balance test shot before I threw on the expodisc to change it. I just wanted to make sure that the previous setting wasn't already accurate. However, upon taking this shot, I felt that the cool white balance added to the urban feel of the image, so I decided to keep it. In fact, we never changed the balance the rest of the shoot.

I think he looks almost photoshopped in since the lighting in the background is so much more yellow than the light of the subject. I think the coolness of the color of your flash is fine but it's just different from the rest if the scene.

EDIT: I guess there is a small amount of the yellow light along the left side of his neck and arm.

This is almost SOOC. I did some minor frequency separation, color and light temps are untouched. This was actually a white balance test shot. After shooting it, I felt like the cool temp added to the urban feel of the photo, so I just kept shooting with it. The yellow you see is the temp of the sunlight nearing sunset against an un-geled flash head and white shoot through umbrella.

The location looks fishy because this was shot on top of the pedestrian walking bridge "Walnut Street Bridge" in Chattanooga TN. The subject is backed up to the rail, and shooting overlooking the river and city.

Maybe lower your clarity just a little, his skin and shirt look a little funny. But I also maybe way off on that to!

They have, but not much at all. Minor frequency separation. Their is a bit of sharpening on them, to compensate for Facebook compression, which probably destroys the images here.

why are you still shooting jpg?

I don't know where that assumption came from. I don't shoot JPEG. Because they were uploaded in JPEG, you think I shot it in JPEG? That's rather naive. The original files are NEF's, and the files these are converted from are actually 16 bit .png Files... if TPF would allow larger files, that's the same format they would have been uploaded from. However, I've had trouble getting images to upload larger than 1.5MB here. So, they were converted to an 8 bit JPEG before upload.

Alright, the reason I asked is because your colors aren't consistent.

it had more to do with talking about selecting the "improper" wb and the effect on the final picture. I assumed this was in camera (where WB matters if shooting jpg) and not done in post.
