Using Welding Glass as an ND Filter

Well, I paid £1.50 for a piece, roughly equivalent to a 10 stop, but causes a terrible green hue, so B&W is pretty much necessary unless you can recover it.


I'm quite chuffed with this, first attempt on a murky evening, I imagine a bright sunny day would be better. Any tips for improvement?

I have tried that also with the same results. I also wish I could get rid of the green . I have noticed that if it is a little under exposed, lines from the glass show up. It has to be in the glass but I can't see it.

I haven't noticed that yet, I only took a couple of shots though as the light was fading! Will give it another go tomorrow.
