Veranda

It is quiet here.

The view is still nice, but the cold discourages most from lingering and savouring the view.

There's an art class going on in the basement. And the weavers guild is having a workshop along with the potters who are firing their latest creations.

The art gallery is being set up for a new exhibition.

The library has several people lost in the pages of their books, their minds very far away from the snow that's just outside the windows.

It's the first real snowfall of the season.

For the veranda, it's a time of rest and reflection.

Can be arranged. It's an old mansion, and the boardroom and the ballroom are surrounded by dark panels and lead-glass windows. I'll see if I can have permission to photograph inside.

I had some difficulty with the lines on this one. The veranda is deliberately sloped, so if you line up the verticals properly, the horizontals are skewed, and if you get the horizontals level, then the verticals are off. I suppose I could use the skew/warp tool and see if I can get the lines perpendicular to each other, but for this image I decided to leave the verticals vertical and let the horizontal lines go where they may. As for the camera in the corner, I'll see if I can clone it out (my photoshop skills are rather rudimentary, so who knows whether I can make it look convincing ).

It's a very nice photo -- yep I'd skew it into shape. I'm spoiled, I have this as a plugin for Photoshop: Features | www.dxo.com and it makes jobs like that easy.
