'Vintage' - Studio lighting or post production?

Hello I'm really interested to find out whether anyone knows, or can tell whether the below photos have been shot with a particular camera, with a particular lens/film etc to give the effect, or whether the images have had something applied to them in post production (PhotoShop filter etc)

No, you're reading into it something other than what was intended. The lighting is "flat" and "bland", with about a 1:2 lighting ratio...LOADS of fill lighting...bright shadows, almost no shape revealed in the people due to the flat, bland lighting....then a simple cookie-cutter action or two is applied over the blandly lighted shots....that's what produces the "look".

These are NOT done with high-ratio lighting, like Dave Hill shots: the key to this "look" is flat, bland lighting originally, with ample fill, bright shadows. Avoiding dramatic, directional, or high-ratio deep-shadowed lighting is critical to making this look appear right: these depend on flat lighting to begin with, in the source file.

As to people eating the style up: I could give two $h!+s about whether people are eating the style up, or not...I just stated how it is done. Flat lighting + post.

All the rest is you "imagining" that my comments were negative, when in fact they tell you one of the most essential ingredients to achieving this look: flat, bland lighting to BEGIN with, then applying the post.
