You might want to have a look with all light, other than the hand and face, removed from the image.

yeah, i tried that, but i didn't like it quite as much. it just made the hand stick out to much instead of kindof melting in and out of the background. it just made the hand less: "oh my god there's a hand coming from somewhere!" and more, "oh, there's a hand and a face." i wantede the hand to hide in the picture. all sneaky like. thanks Sympl!

cool idea pretty well executed but....I think it looks too much like the models own hand. A gloved hand on the other hand (lol) might look more convincing.
