1st one I would say the boarder is too centered and blury.

Second one is better but lack a bit of saturation IMO.

thanks, but I don't know what saturation means. As far as photo 1 being blurry, it looks worse when I resized it to post it. when it was full size after being uploaded to my computer, it looks very crisp. Still figuring out how to use the new DSLR so I take any info I can get....

most likely that the colors look flat, that could be from haze was if very hot day you shot these?

95 degrees and slightly hazy. I am also 75 feet away shooting with 70-300 zoom lens that is somewhat cheap. Could that play a factor too?
