Want to have a laugh at my expense?

No problem ;-)

I laugh at myself pretty often.

I cooked a wonderful lemon chicken and wanted to photograph it today.

Earlier I read what seemed to be a great trip.

"Set up the photograph on something movable", and it made sense.

First thing that happened was that I lightly bumped into a light stand and thought nothing of it.

But later when I tried to turn it on it wouldn't work.

The bulbs aren't cheap and I don't have a spare.

Later it did work, and just needed tightening.

So I set up the shot on a movable board and carefully checked everything.

Just needed to have the food a little closer to me so I moved the board closer.

The plate and food crashed to the floor due to the weight of the food and plate hanging over the edge of the table.

The good news?

The plate didn't break and the chicken and potato were still on it..

Bad news?

Everything was scrambled and I had peas all over the floor!

Swept the floor and set up the shot again.

Bad news?

The butter patties had now melted into the potato.

Not a bad photo though, considering what it took to get it.

P.S. I later took some shots of butter patties and tried to add them in PS but it's either not possible or is beyond my field of PS expertize.

In order to be more recognizable, baked potatoes are frequently shown as whole with just a slit in the skin with butter or butter and sour cream in the slit. In the US of course, since I don't know about Portugal.
The chicken looks good enough to eat.....................

I really don't like the edits at all, very tacky effects that take away from the food itself.
Food on a plate looks edible, food on a curled poster looks silly.

@Watchful

I don't think the OP will benefit from your poor and silly "cyan colored plate" edit and the lack of useful tips, advice etc. It's obvious you have very little knowledge of styling, design and photography.
I really don't understand why you want to display such shortcoming so clearly on this forum. Thank you!
Oh no thank you, that's hilarious, you win the internet for irony.

The cracked bun gives the impression of freshness. :) lol

There's something just not quite right with the photos.
I can't put my finger on it.
The food just does not look appetizing.

Nutrition devoid mystery meat sausage with sugar and salt laden condiments on a whole wheat bun - love the contrast! :allteeth:

You can try more dramatic and direction light. As a general rule you should light you food from behind.
