water bubble

Was on vacation in Carmel a couple weeks ago and snapped this of a water fountain as I was passing by. Didn't think twice about it and didn't even remember it until I was loading all my pictures into lightroom.

Is there a particular reason you chose to use b&w?

The water was already almost black and white from the fountain. The background was originally green and I thought it was distracting given the lack of color in the foreground.

Plus I feel b&w gave the "bubble" more contrast in the ripples and folds.
