Weather Sucks!

I'm just now getting to where I feel like maybe at least going out a little. Getting some strength back, slowly. Thought I might drive out to the refuge today, but when I walked outside I quickly changed my mind. It's still hitting 100-102 here, and for some reason the humidity has hung on all summer, ranging from 30-50% most days. Ugh!! It's a killer! How's the weather where you are?!

It's 64 here but a tad humid making it feel warmer.

The problem is that there's a cloud cover ... making taking photos of the moon impossible for a nice, crisp and detailed shot.

Cape Cod has been in high 80's to mid 90's but humidity is not too bad.
Striped bass are running, all is well.

Here in the northern part of the lower peninsula of Michigan, 30%-50% humidity is low in the summer!

Iowa has been pretty good lately. (Now watch; I'm jinxing it.)

Sunny and dry, night-time lows in the 60's, daytime highs in the low 80's, with low humidity.

Here in No. Fla., it's been hitting about 95 deg with 60 - 100% humidity....and then, the obligatory afternoon thunderstorm.....

Hot and gross here. 30c plus humidity. We are staying home. Made the mistake of going out yesterday to the sheep dog trials and I about died. Way to freaking hot.

We've had some hot weather here in the Pacific Northwest. It's supposed to be 99 here today, and 100 tomorrow. We're JUST under 100 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, so we're not used to hot weather in western Oregon. Central and eastern Oregon are high elevation desert country, with sagebrush and tumbleweeds and jackrabbits and rattlesnakes, mule deer, and pronghorn...but here...it's still GREEN. And so, when it hits 99 to 100, we wilt. It's been alternating between highs of 92,90,89, and the low 80's as highs for the past two weeks. At the end of July, we had rain like hell for three days in a row, after a hot spell of 4 days at 90+. When it is hot like this, meaning 90+ in the Willamette Valley, we can drive over to the coast, and it'll be 70 degrees, and oftentimes FOGGY! in a band that runs about three to five miles inland along the coast. It's pretty common for extreme heat spells in the valley to be contained by cool marine air offshore, so the beach is a real refuge for us here. We avberage about four to five days a year that break 100 degrees. And those days often come in ONE, single, short "heat wave".

One of the reasons I'll never live in Florida again!

Temperatures here in suburban NY aren't as high but humidity definitely is higher, so even though we're having a relatively cool summer in terms of overall temps, the humidity still makes 83 degrees feel hot, muggy, and gross. And we've been having a lot of rain this summer, so it's muggy almost every day.

I hate summer. Hot and humid weather sucks every bit of energy out of me.

So, is it safe to say we're all ready for Fall, and cooler weather?! In another life, I worked for the Schwan Food Company. 25 years, 14 of that as Facility Supervisor. That entailed running the warehouse and freezer, which averaged -30 F. I acclimated to it so much, that I cannot function very long out in this kind of heat. Once it breaks 90 degrees and the humidity is anything over 30%, I just stay home. Or, in the car if out and about. So, yeah, I'm ready for C O L D weather!

I long for days with 30% to 50% humidity.

Today isn't too bad right now at 70% humidity, but the high temp will only be about 80.
Tonight the humidity will go up to about 90%
So far we've been having a mild summer temperature wise.

Bring on fall! I cannot wait. My list of places to go take fall pictures is growing. I'm taking two weeks off in fall just to go hiking.

I've been saying that since June

I just did a quick errand. My car thermometer says it's 80 degrees right now. Weather Channel says the high will be 84 today, humidity at 40% and a UV rating of 8. This is the kind of weather that is pretty much my limit: I could manage it if I stayed in the shade and walked slowly, but the sun feels so strong and for me, it's not tolerable for anything more than a few minutes. So unless I have a very specific reason to go outside, I generally don't.

I have COPD, and as rough as it is here in the summer, when it hits 70 deg. I put on a jacket....when it hits 60 deg, I have trouble breathing....just can't get enough oxygen to survive when it gets cold....and yes, 60 is cold to me......lived in FL all my life.....
