Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello,

I know this is probably totally inappropriate to post, but I received my wedding pictures from my "professional" photographer who was well paid. The pictures were not edited, so he agreed to edit the ones that I liked (can you believe it!!). Now, I haven't been able to get a hold of him...I have clearly been ripped off. I am in the process of filing a lawsuit as he is held to a contract, but was hoping someone out there may be willing to look at some of the pics and tell me if they are salvageable. There is so much to the story, you have no idea. If anyone is interested in tinkering with some -ok- pictures, please email me at garnierfraserwedding@gmail.com.

Thanks.

K

define "well paid"

What are the copyright laws like wherever you are on planet Earth? (TPF is an international forum)

Most places you would not have a legal right to edit any of the photographs without the expressed written permission of the copyright owner.

Did you happen to hire him off craigslist???..lol

Hi Kimmy,

What do you mean by edit? In my case, my client get a set of un-edited proofs. They pick out the ones they want in their album and the ones they want other prints of to give as gifts. I only airbrush the ones they pick then have them sent out to be printed and have the album made. I don't airbrush the proofs. That's just a silly waste of time. Now it all comes down to what your wedding contract says. Since we don't have all the details it is hard to give advice. Let your lawyer handle this one. They will know what to do.
