Well it's good. But I've seen better pictures. There are a couple in there that wouldn't come out too well with a lesser camera though.

Kills me I bought my D200 about three months ago with no knowledge of the D3 or D300. Wish I had waited!!

D-50 a new camera is released every year. Think of it this way. By the time the D300 actually gets to stores it'll be another 2 months. And at that time you will have 5 months extra shooting time and it won't seem so bad anymore.

I know a new camera is released every year and typically its more or less the same as its predecessor with a couple added bells or MPs, the D3 and D300 though have a lot more to offer with their CMOS sensors and high quality high ISO photos. A D200 on 1600 is too grainy for me. Being able to shoot at a high iso with quality presents so many more options.

I do love the D200 though so Im not that mad I guess Ill pick up the 300 in a couple years right before the 400 comes out.

Well... I have always been told its not the camera its the photographer... blah blah blah.. But whatever thats a kickbutt camera and if I had extra cash... I would.... still not buy it and keep my d50 and d200.

What I am waiting for is high ISO images from the D300, to see if they are an improvement as well.

I desperately want a D3 but there is absolutely, positively no way I can justify spending that kind of money on a new camera unless I start taking pictures commercially again.

I actually sat down last night and started thinking about doing things like senior pictures, memory mates, etc... next year. Just about anything but weddings (that one is a non-starter for me).

The ISO performance is a major magnet for me.

I wonder how the C team is going to respond.
(they should start with hiring a good team of designers).
