Not as hot.. but need more contrast! And because of the highlights, you can't add enough contrast to make them look good. The first two aren't keepers really... maybe you could do a re-shoot? After all, you have the models readily available, right? (btw, my edit was not to show that it could save the image... more to show you how bright your original edit was.)
