Weekly challenge 8/28 - 9/3 Motion

For this week’s challenge, our theme is motion. Motion photography can include panning, motion blur, ICM (intentional camera movement), light trails, freezing motion or anything else that you can come up with that conveys the idea of motion. Challenge yourself! Try panning if you’ve never done it before. Take some light trails even if it’s only from your front porch. Head into your town and capture some hustle and bustle using long exposure. Carnival in the area? Now’s your chance to get that cliche lighted Ferris wheel in motion shot. Get out that Nd filter you bought for waterfalls and use it to capture some cloud movement on a breezy day. Try something new!

As always, new photos only for the challenge please. Get out there and shoot!

There was a little bird in the branches I wanted to shoot. By the time the
gimble and the combo were set up, it was gone… well, see you around
little fellow. Then the wind pick up and I triggered with out looking through
the finder — I knew everything was right in terms of exposure ƒ 8 /1/125 s
and focus and I did not want to miss that: a sharp blurred image!

I don't know what these are, but there were a bunch of them on the Desert Willow this morning, so I chased them around until I got a shot.

My son wanted to cull out this shot: "… 'can't touch this!" I ordered.
I was proven right when it was selected to advertise the vernissage
celebration evening with a poster that was spread all over town.

I've heard them called both Hummingbird Moths and Hawk Moths.
