What are these pinkish things? eggs from an insect? these are alongside a small, murky lake near a Houston park. I've seen them before, but today I had a camera.

Yup, take them all out.
The little bit I read suggested that they, once again, got into the wild after being released by people who had them as "pets".

The impact of invasive species is a huge, global problem.
