What do I need for an umbrella stand?

I am new to portrait photography. What do I need for an umbrella stand? On photography equipment websites, it isnt clear what you should use for an umbrella stand? I am looking to spend $40-50. Do I need a basic light stand with an attachment for holding an umbrella. What is the most basic piece of equipment I can buy for propping up an umbrella about 7 feet? Please help. Thanks.
