So I'm a little stumped. I have taken pictures of newborns (they sleep mostly), but what do you do with babies that aren't all sleepy anymore? What kind of ideas do you have when it comes to babies that are awake and starting to move around? I have no idea what to do with them at this stage. They aren't as easy to pose when they aren't sleeping, and they aren't strong enough to really hold their head up.

Does anybody have any ideas, prop ideas, or ANYTHING that could help me out on this? I have not a clue what to do! I don't want to take "boring" pictures for people. And when it comes to boys...What ideas does anybody have? Can't put a cute bow in their hair!

Please help!
Thanks.

I'm the odd one out because I do not like sleeping naked newborn photos. I'd rather them be awake and clothed! lol

Here are some of my newborn shots. I'm still a beginner and seriously newborns are so hard to shoot because they are so absorbent! lol

apart from setting up shots like Ann Geddes, the best thing you can do is get down on the floor at their level and play with them and snap away. Sneak in when they are sleeping and shoot a few that way, take them somewhere (with mum of course) where new experiences amaze them, borrow some puppies for ultra cuteness...really just use your imagination and try and think like a toddler.
